Simple

Eclectic
Boogieman took pictures ... but left his camera at work! So, I'll post one of mine from earlier in the week, and we'll put his up when he retrieves the camera next week.
(I had been wanting to take this shot for a while...but the day I took it, it had to compete with "wet leaf on asphalt" which was an unexpected find when coming out of the post office. So, it's kind of nice that the charming telephone pole made the blog anyway.)

Public Service Announcement:
Boogieman will be making regular photo postings on Saturdays. He has been duly coerced by my threats to remove his name from the blog. He finds it charming and romantic to have our names displayed together and does not want me to take such drastic action. I, in turn, want to see some photographs from him! She who has the most power wins -- that's how marriage works, right?
ETA: Why do I want to see more photos from him? Because I love him and the way he sees the world! And want to share this project with him (even if I do have to use coercive tactics).

Extra: Comfort in Pink

A Secular Easter
When an ex-Christian and non-observant Jew go out to eat on Easter, they are happy that they have the whole restaurant, and practically the entire parking lot and shopping center to themselves.
Of course, we brought the camera and played around taking some shots. I had just read an article on negative space in photo composition, and I can tell it was already influencing me. And, with such compositional preoccupations, I forgot to adjust the aperture so as to avoid the blown out sky. :)

My Magnolia
This beauty is a little taste of my southern roots, right in my own little back yard. We don't have the right climate to grow those big evergreen magnolias (there are some but they are rare), so this is my substitute. She drops all her leaves in winter and then blooms these delicate flowers before she even leafs back out in the spring.

Through the looking glass
This creation belongs to the girl. I have been down with a stomach bug and the daffodil shot, taken two mornings ago, is the last I remember of my camera. I'm better, sipping ginger ale, and hope to be taking pictures again soon.
After being sick, I always feel so grateful when I finally feel better and life just returns to my own daily normal.

Someone left this little decoration on the counter at our store, which of course, could only mean one thing: a photo shoot!
Seneca State Park
After quite a few weeks of bad weather and busy schedules, Boogieman and I got out Sunday morning with our cameras. It was rainy and bleak, but we went ahead to check out a state park that we had not been to: Seneca State Park, a mere fifteen minutes from home.
I was grumpy and tired (those are kind words for how to describe me) and reluctant to get out of the car. I even took this first shot from the car...how unlike me! After Boogieman got out to investigate this old farm implement, I got out and snapped some shots of the tree buds.
It was not our best photo outing ever, but hopefully the return of our regular Sunday photos.
